What is it?
This page allows a user to download a selected organism data layer displayed on the map.
Choose the fields you want to download by adding or removing a check in the box in the column to the right of the field name. This information will be included for each row (location).
organization: the organization the data was collected by
project: the name of the project the data is associated with
date: the date the data were collected
area name: the name of the area (location)
left coordinate: for a point, the X-value; for a pixel, the X-value for the upper left corner of the cell
top coordinate: for a point, the Y-value; for a polygon, the Y-value for the upper left corner of the cell
area width: for a pixel, the width of the cell
area height: for a pixel, the height of the cell
There are three formats you can obtain the data:
Window: this button opens a new window with a table of data that could be copied and pasted into Microsoft Excel or a similar program.
Text File: this button will prompt you to save the file as a tab-delimited textfile. Browse to the location on your computer you want to data. The text file can be opened in Microsoft Excel by chaning the file type option at the bottom of the Open file dialog to text and selecting tab delimited.
Shapefile: this button will prompt you to Save the file as an ESRI shapefile. Browse to the location on your computer you want to data. This file can be opened with any ESRI ArcGIS products.
Where is it?
Select 'By Map' in the 'Browse data' section on the main navigation bar of the website.
